LED screen can be seen everywhere in life, such as display screen, broadcast screen, etc., but do you know how to calculate the size of LED? Today, let’s learn about the calculation method of LED screen size.
1、 Calculation of point spacing
1. Common models and dimensions of each unit board
LED screens are generally made of unit boards. The common models and dimensions (mm) of LED unit board are as follows:
Different brands may have slight differences.
2. So how is it calculated?
Take P10 and p16 as examples, because they are the most common.
PH16 single unit board size
For the p16 model, the LED point spacing of the general module is 16 points long and 8 points wide, while the point spacing of p16 is 10mm. Therefore, the calculation:
Length = 16 points × 1.6㎝=25.6㎝
Height = 8 points × 1.6㎝=12.8㎝
PH10 single unit board size
For the P10 model, the LED point spacing of the general module is 32 points long and 16 points wide, while the point spacing of P10 is 10mm, so the calculation is:
Length = 32 points × 1.0㎝=32㎝
Height = 16 points × 1.0㎝=16㎝;
It is the same as the above data. Generally, you don’t need to calculate these, just remember the content of the above picture.
2、 Calculation of indoor LED screen
After understanding some of the basic data above, we can take a look at it through an example.
Example:
If you need an indoor full-color LED screen with length and width of 4m and 3M respectively, how to calculate its actual length and height with P10 screen?
Maybe some friends don’t understand what this problem means. Since there are already lengths and widths, why do you have to calculate them? Because the large LED screen is composed of multiple unit boards, how many unit boards need to be used to calculate the large screen with a length of 4m and a width of 2m.
1. First, calculate the number of unit boards required for length and height (divide the length of the whole screen by the length of the unit board and take an integer)
Length:
We know the basic data of P10 from the above. The number of modules is calculated as follows:
Length: 4m / 0.32m = 12.5 ≈ 13.
Width: 3m / 0.16m = 18.7 ≈ 19
Because the minimum unit of the module is 1, it should be rounded.
2. Actual length and height dimensions (multiply the number of unit plates required by the size of a single unit plate)
Length: 13 * 0.32 = 4.16m,
Width: 19 * 0.16 = 3.04M
3. Actual LED screen area:
Therefore, the LED length is 4.16 * 3.04M.
3、 Calculation of outdoor LED screen
The outdoor LED is spliced with a box. Compared with the module, the size of the box is more, but the calculation method is similar! You need to round the last number to calculate the screen size.
4、 Calculation of LED screen at door head
Walking on the street, the Rectangular LED display screen at the head of banks and shops is playing advertising subtitles. We usually refer to it as door LED screen, LED strip screen or LED walking screen. So what is the specification of the door led display? How to determine the screen size? Actually, it’s similar to the indoor one.
give an example:
A shop has customized a P10 monochrome LED display (320 * 160) with a length and width of 3.5m × 0.8m word walking screen. How to calculate the actual size of door led display?
1. First, calculate the number of unit boards required for length and height (divide the length of the whole screen by the length of the unit board and take an integer)
Length: 3.5m ÷ 0.32 = 10.9375 ≈ 11
Height: 1m ÷ 0.16 = 5 ≈ 5
2. Actual length and height dimensions (multiply the number of unit plates required by the size of a single unit plate)
Length: 11 × 0.32=3.52m
Height: 5 × 0.16m=0.96m
3. Actual LED screen area:
3.52m × 0.96m=3.3792㎡
What needs to be added is:
The LED display screen at the door head also has frame size. Because the frame profile has many specifications,
The common border thickness is 9 cm. Width plus 3.5cm (one side); There is also width plus 4.5cm (one side)
Let’s assume that the side of the display screen is 3.5cm wide as follows:
Whole screen length: 3.52M + 0.035 * 2 = 3.59M
Whole screen height: 0.96 + 0.035 * 2 = 1.03m
Therefore, the actual whole screen area is 3.59M × 1.03=3.6977㎡
